My father-in-law, Captain Carl M. Larkin passed on September 28.  He was 92 and at least five times bigger than life in life and story.  He will be missed.  In memory of him I put together a photo tribute in Powerpoint.  You can see it here:

It's a big file, almost 1-gig. Be patient.  It takes awhile to load.

Just a normal family.

My family is my inspiration.  Kathleen, my wife of  30-years, is more than a spouse, she is the fire that lights my passion for life.  Matt, Alyson and Errin are blessings in the form of my children.  Larkin, Ellen, Kennedy and JR, my grandkids, and Josh, my son-in-law, are gifts my children have brought us.

We live here...

University Place is about five miles west of Tacoma and 30 south of Seattle.  We live in a neighborhood aptly named Sunset Beach, over-looking the south end of the Tacoma Narrows.

But much of our time is spent here:  our beach home in Ocean Shores, alongside Gray's Harbor.

This is my family.  My wonderful and beautiful wife, Kathleen Larkin-Kuehn, VP for Business Development, Merchant Card Services, Columbia Bank.

Our grand-daughter, Larkin Daly , a seventh grader at St. Charles Borromeo in Tacoma,

We are truly blessed that Larkin, now 13, spends a lot of time with us.

She's a talented actress.  Here as Birgita in the Sound of Music, St. Charles' 2015 student musical.

To watch a very courageous 11 year old sing "Somewhere over the Rainbow" as Dorothy in the Tacoma Musical Playhouse 2013 summer camp production of the Wizard of Oz, click here:

and, best of all, an excellent student and leader at her school.

Here are all of our four grandchildren.

The newest, JR, had just arrived when this

Kathleen's birthday, with Larkin, Errin and Matt (an Assistant Attorney General in the Torts Division of the Washington State AG's Office).

Good times!  Our daughters Errin (a cosmetology student) and Alyson (a policy/budget analyst with Washington State's Department of Transportation) with Larkin and Matt.  Son-in-law Josh inset.  Josh works with a energy-saving program in Thurston County and runs the county fairgrounds.
